Site Safety Presentation at Mount Stuart Primary

As part of our Mermaid Quay public realm improvements project, we had a fantastic afternoon at Mount Stuart Primary School, with our social value team – Antonia John and Chloe Gore along with Jennifer Bunday of Mermaid Quay, presenting to the pupils about the dangers of construction sites and launching our site safety poster art competition.

We were delighted with the high level of engagement from the pupils and the wide range of questions at the Q&A, and would like to thank the teachers and pupils of Mount Stuart Primary for their warm welcome. We now can’t wait to see the poster entries, with the winning posters to be printed and showcased on our hoarding at Mermaid Quay. After having to deliver school engagement events virtually for such a long time, it was great to back in a school, meeting pupils, and we look forward to returning to Mount Stuart Primary to present prizes to the winning artists.

We have been working closely with Mermaid Quay Project Managers, JLL and Managing Agents, CBRE to deliver the exciting transformation of Cardiff Bay’s popular waterfront dining and leisure destination, which includes new paving, new lighting, wayfinding and signage, seating and planting and more – you can see more details about the project here: lnkd.in/d3MMribU

Work started in September and is being undertaken over the autumn and winter, so that the Centre can emerge with a whole new look in time for Easter 2022. Businesses at Mermaid Quay remain open during construction and we are working to ensure that they – as well as visitors and neighbours – experience minimal disruption while the work is taking place.
