We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the SGS Pegasus School Expansion, delivered on behalf of South Gloucestershire Council to enhance SEND provisions and create space for 40 additional students in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Over a 48-week programme, the team delivered a 486sqm extension featuring five new classrooms fitted with advanced technology, sensory-informed finishes, and sound-reduction measures. We also added staff resource areas, accessible welfare facilities, and upgraded outdoor learning spaces, a tarmac play yard, low-level timber fencing, and improved car park facilities including a two-port EV charger.
Environmental and safety considerations were key throughout, with bat and bird boxes installed to protect local wildlife, enhanced DBS checks for all site staff, and upgraded SALTO door access systems to maintain school security during construction.
In addition to the successful delivery of the project, a wide range of Social Value initiatives were implemented, supporting social, economic, environmental, and cultural priorities across Patchway and South Gloucestershire. The site was also recognised for its outstanding approach to Workforce Value, Health & Safety, and Community Engagement, achieving a perfect CCS score of 45/45, along with a prestigious Considerate Constructor National Bronze Award, coupled with a shortlisting for the upcoming 2025 Procure Partnerships Framework National Project Excellence Awards – Project of the Year (West).
