Women In Construction CITB Swansea Careers Event

We were thrilled to take part in the Swansea CITB Women in Construction Careers Day at CWICWales, hosted by the amazing team at Go Construct: Engage Programme.

Over 77 Year 8 & 9 pupils from 4 schools joined us to explore the diverse and exciting roles across the construction industry, from architects to surveyors, planners to painters.

Our challenge – The Construction Chain – walked students through real-world roles involved in Encon Construction’s upcoming Kings Lane Corner project for Beacon Housing Association. With coloured envelopes, role cards, local study routes, and potential salaries, students built their own construction chain and saw how each job links to the next.

Huge thanks to CITB’s Victoria Walsh and Mark Whitby, and our event team:
Antonia John & Jemma Morris (Women in Property), Adeel & Pascha (Encon Construction), Carys (Cambria Consulting), and Clare Watkins (Beacon).

Together, we’re shaping the next generation of construction professionals by building awareness, aspiration, and ambition.
