We are delighted to announce that Tŷ’r Groes Community Living & Hub has been shortlisted for the Social Value Portal Awards 2026 in the Excellence in Planning and Real Estate category.
Delivered in partnership with Cardiff Council, the project transformed the former Canton Community Hall site into a thriving hub providing 41 EPC A rated, fully accessible apartments for older people, a modern community shared space and garden.
Tŷ’r Groes was created to tackle social isolation, support wellbeing, create opportunities for local people and strengthen the local economy. Through collaboration with local partners, schools, community groups and key stakeholders, the project has delivered £3.48 million of social value.
The project’s impact includes:
– 944 apprenticeship weeks delivered.
– 12 local people employed.
– £3.49 million spent with the local supply chain.
– Training, mentoring and careers support opportunities for local people.
– Long-term community facilities that will benefit residents for generations to come.
This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our wider project team and partners who helped make Tŷ’r Groes such a success.
