Supporting and Contribution to Action for Children

As part of Encon’s commitment to leaving a positive legacy through our Leckwith Road Community Living Scheme Cardiff Council project, we are proud to support ACTION FOR CHILDREN SERVICES that supports vulnerable young people in Cardiff. Led by Bowen-Thomson Gary, Encon has donated towards providing ‘Goodie Bags’ with essential items to support/improve health and hygiene for young people and families within Canton and other areas of Cardiff. Additionally, there has been a focus to help improve educational support for young people and families where we have helped provide ‘Education Bags’ with essential learning materials.

Each year, Action for Children identify children and young people involved in, or on the cusp of, serious organised crime at the earliest opportunity. Many children and young people are groomed by serious criminals from an early age. They find it hard to escape when they become involved in the dangerous world of serious organised crime. They divert them away from exploitation or criminal pathways that could lead to career criminality.

The service supports children and young people through intensive one-to-one sessions, risk reduction, group work, peer mentoring, and diversionary activities. Additionally, they also provide positive opportunities including education, training and employment.
