The contract was for the redevelopment of Blackwood Bus Station. The client placed high importance on the contract having minimal impact on the surrounding businesses and members of the public. The contact was a mixture of civil engineering and building.
The civils work involved soil nailing and underpinning of an existing reinforced concrete wall, installation and facing to a new sheet piled retaining wall, general reduction in earthworks levels and the reconfiguration of the road layouts and drainage.
The building work involved the construction of a high specification structural curtain walling glass façade terminal building including café, waiting area, canteen, offices and welfare facilities. The building was constructed to a high specification with bullnosed laserline aluminium eaves, standing seam roof, aluminium cassette ceiling, terrazzo flooring with under floor heating and high specification internal finishes.
